work > chance pattern (2011- )

This body of chance pattern work is based on the number 4. In these paintings the grid, which is usually implied or static, becomes an active element in which its units begin to shift thereby creating new patterns and shapes. Which units fall away is determined by chance, literally the spin of a wheel. The chosen colors are two sets of split complements.
