Where Am I? was exhibited in the Ovid Window gallery in Pine Hill, NY, in the summer of 2023. Since the venue opened in the spring of that year, it has been home to a variety of installations that can be seen 24/7. Where Am I? employed Shape Alphabet 1 to spell out directional opposites (NEAR/FAR, IN/OUT, etc.) that filled the space in their respective/related positions.

Belles Lettres was installed in the PHCC in Pine Hill, NY in the fall of 2019. It was a continuing exploration of letters as shapes. Something with which we're very familiar--the ABCs--took on another form that's less so, one that requires a different type of engagement in which language and labels just get in the way. My hope was that viewers would allow their right brains to kick in so that they wouldn't feel the need to "read" anything and would simply react/respond to the shapes, colors, materials, and movement that are an end in themselves.

Capturing Sunlight was a site-specific installation made in the late summer of 2014 in response to the brilliant sunlight that floods the large front windows of The Painters gallery, a unique exhibition space in the Catskills. The light also produces very distinct and ever-changing shapes on the floor of the gallery's front room. The project offered a chance to expand upon "some fall down," a series of paintings I've been working on for the past few years to which I'd been, unsuccessfully, trying to add a third dimension. A solution became obvious, however, when it became necessary to "catch" the sunlight. By simply incorporating projections the sun could interfere with these structures to produce additional colors and shapes; in essence, paintings that change as the sun moves across the sky. The window pieces did it by using colored plexiglas that the light passed through, and the floor pieces used projecting planes that blocked the light to produce shadows. The "traditional" paintings (on canvas) depict imagined shapes and colors that might result given certain light conditions at any given time. These "paintings" like those I've been making since 2008, are also the result of chance, only this time not determined by the spin of a wheel but due to the unpredictability of the weather and the sun's constantly changing trajectory.

Logic and Structure was a 3-person installation done in the fall of 2015 at The Painters gallery. In it, the participants attempted to visually describe the logic of set theory through the use of structures, a concept commonly depicted by a Venn diagram.

Luminance (2016) was an installation at The Painters in which 4 artists attempted to create a "glow" or the appearance of an "inner light" without using any artificial light source.

Logic and Structure 2 (2017), again at The Painters, was a small group show that explored the concept of binary relationships.

'The Truth Is Not the Truth' or What You Think You See May Not Be What You're Seeing, which I conceived in 2018, was a pop-up installation about ambiguity--political, cultural, and/or visual. It took place at The Porch, a space in Halcottsville, NY, and included the work of 11 other upstate New York artists and a variety of mediums.
